Prokofjev Sonate in f op.80
Szymanovski Mythen
Saint-Saëns Sonate op.75
As scion of a well-know Russian musical family it is no wonder that Liza Ferschtman has become a veritable master of the violin. She plays with major orchestra and conductors but is also extremely fond of chamber music. Her qualities emerge beautifully in the splendid recital with the pianist Aleksander Madzar. No one will be surprised to find that part of the programme is distinctly Slav with works by Szymanovski and Prokofiev.
This concert is part of the Dutch master series: Hollandse Meesters and those who think of gentlemen painters when they think of Dutch masters are in for a surprise in these concerts. These masters are all ladies, and ladies who are at the top of their profession as soloists grown on Dutch soil and with the talent that makes international connoisseurs green with envy. Four of them, three violinists and a cellist, will be playing in this Hague classics series: Haagse Klassieken and they will present four recitals with their accompanying partners. Experience for yourself how magnificent chamber music sounds played by these masters.
