They are among the best male vocalists in the Netherlands the vocal ensemble Frommermann. In previous years they played successfully as guests in the classics series: Haagse Klassieken. In the new programme they explore the thirties when the light music muse offered an escape from the depression and threat of war. Go back in time with Frommermann and the music of Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, The Ramblers and many more.
This concert is part of the male vocal series: Mannenstemmen. They are extraordinarily popular, solely male vocal ensembles. And no wonder. The sound of a group of male voices is exceptional. The depth of the bass, the sonority of the baritones and the clear radiance of the tenors have seduced many a composer to create marvellous pieces for them. Nor have these been confined to the world of the classics. Three of these male ensembles will be performing in this series: the universally known The Gents, the famous King’s Singers who have been singing for decades and of course Frommermann.
