'Subject to Change' (2003) is an expressive dance work to the music of Schubert, a showcase for six stunning dancers. In 'Shutters Shut' (1996) the dancers convey in four minutes in their own sign language the words of the poem by Gertrude Stein 'If I Told Him'. 'Skew-whiff' (1996) to the music of Rossini, is full of unexpected movements requiring sharp timing by the dancers. The world premiere this evening comes from the 25-year old Swede Alexander Ekman, who has been catching the eye in recent years with his unconventional dance pieces.
